I can't believe it's been a year ago today since my sweet grandmother passed away. I've been reflecting today on her life and the great example she was to those who were blessed to know her. Grandmother was a true southern lady. She was born and raised in South Carolina and lived there until the last 51/2 years of her life. She was living here in Utah with my parents when she died.
She had such a great love of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was always eager to share her testimony of its truthfulness. She was so excited for me to be having another girl and she missed meeting my Elizabeth by 2 weeks and 2 days. However she did tell me before she died that she would be around her posterity as much as she could. As much as I miss her, I know she is in a better place and that she is happy to be with her husband, my grandfather Benjamin Workman Wilkerson. I miss both of them very much, but am grateful that I was so close to them and have such wonderful memories of them.
Grandmother loved to watch Lawrence Welk and Keeping Up Appearances. In the mornings she could be found in her room listening to some political program on the radio. She loved talking about her mission and was eager to serve again on the other side. I will always remember what a great example she was to me and try to live up to that example. I know that one day I will be with her again. I Love You Grandmother...Amy Angel
