On Memorial Day we went to my dad's for a barbecue. That morning I was doing a load of laundry and the washer went out on me. I had to wring all the clothes out by hand and take them to my dad's to get them washed. I did a couple loads of laundry there while we had our barbecue. We visited my mother's grave and my grandparent's grave which is right next to my mothers. I had found some South Carolina flags and bought a couple along with an American Flag to put on the graves. My granddaddy Wilkerson had been a Marine and my mother and her mother were born in South Carolina as well as lived there. Unfortunately we were unable to visit my grandma and grandpa Shaw's grave. They are buried in Ogden, UT and it's too far away.
After the barbecue we went to see my father-in-law's grave. I put an American Flag on his grave as well. It was a good day except for my washer going out.
My grandparent's grave
We finally got my mother's headstone ordered on May 27th. It should be in by July 4th. Here is a picture of the proof.

Its nice you guys were able to visit thier graves. I am sad I live so far away and never get to visit them. Sounds like you had a good holiday weekend:)
Your mothers gravestone is beautiful. I'm glad you were able to visit the graves. I'll drop by and visit when we bring Christopher to the MTC.
What a great way to spend Memorial Day. Thanks for putting the South Carolina flags on their graves. The South must be represented.
