On July 24th Utah always celebrates Pioneer Day. It's the day when the pioneer's entered the Salt Lake Valley to settle. In our town they celebrate the whole week leading up to July 24th. On Saturday July 18th, our ward's primary entered a float in the Children's Parade. Katelynn was able to be a part of this fun parade. All the kids were in white and the theme of the float was "Forever Families". After the parade we met up with Amber and Brixton for some children's activities in the park. There was face painting and fish pond, a bounce house and a fish rodeo. The kids got in a huge man made pond and got to catch live trout with the help of nets. Katelynn got soaked but loved it. She and Brixton both caught a fish and thought it was great.
Another activity I attempted with the girls was the re-dedication of the Pioneer Cemetery in Spanish Fork. The Daughter's of the Utah Pioneers have been raising money to clean it up and research all the names of those buried there. I was unable to stay since because the girls were to tired. Later in the week we went to the Sidewalk Sales on Main Street where we met Elmo. That was a big hit with Katelynn and Elizabeth.

On the 24th of July Katelynn got to be in the Grand Parade because our wards float won first prize in the Children's Parade. This time I was asked as a parent to walk with the float. My dad came down to see the parade. Later in the day we just hung outside in the backyard. The girls had a great time and it was a nice end to the day. Enjoy the pictures from the fun activities we did this week.
