My Dad's Birthday

My dad celebrated his birthday on October 20th. Wes and I had him and Faye down for dinner that night. I made my mother's lasagna and my Grandma Shaw's Eggnog Pie. I had never made the pie before, but it turned out great! My dad loved it and said it was the best he'd tasted since his mother passed away over 13 years ago! That made me feel good since his brother and sister have both made it since then. On Sunday October 25th we went up to my dad's house where my sister made him dinner. My sister's and I had found a Shaw Clan Badge and motto that my mother had cross stitched for him years ago. She never got it framed so we had it professionally matted and framed for his present. He loved it! It meant more since my mother had made it for him. Wes hung it up for him before we left. Happy Birthday Dad, I Love You!

I am sorry that I missed knowing that it was your Dad's birthday! Happy Birthday, David! How awesome that you girls had that cross stitch framed for him. What a great birthday gift!

Give your dad a happy birthday wish from me. I was just looking at the photos of him and remembered Granddaddy writing a check to your dad once addressed to "Chief Bald Eagle". I love Granddaddy's sense of humor and so did your dad! The counted cross stitch is beautiful!

Amy, I hope you don't mind that I used your picture of the girls and Dad on my blog. I couldn't use the picture I took because Karrie had her eyes closed in it. Love you!
