Gingerbread House and Santa

The day Katelynn was to make her Gingerbread House in school, she was sick with the stomach flu. Her teacher sent home the makings and we did it here at home. She was so excited and would have put more candy on if it would have fit! She loved licking the icing and kept trying to get the drops off even when it dried. Oh, the wonders of childhood! On the 18th her school had a Christmas party. Santa came and she was so excited about it. That same night, about 8:30 just as I was putting the girls to bed there was a knock on our front door. I opened the door to see Santa Clause standing on our front porch! Katelynn was so excited she ran around giggling. Elizabeth started to cry but when I picked her up she was alright. He asked what the girls wanted for Christmas and then asked if they had been good this year. It was the highlight of the evening!

Today we hadn't been to see Santa at the mall yet. I wanted to get a picture of the girls with Santa so I got to the mall right when it opened to stand in line. I was afraid of Elizabeth's reaction but she loved him! She giggled and ran right up to him. They were so excited and he asked Katelynn to leave him some cookies and milk and some carrots for the reindeer. It was a good morning and we were able to get some last minute Christmas shopping done.
