Christmas Day

Christmas day was a lot of fun. Elizabeth even enjoyed herself despite being sick. We got up with my dad and watched the girls play with the toys Santa had left. We had Faye, my dad's fiancee over for breakfast and then opened some presents.

Around 11 am, Wes' adult kids and our grandchildren came over to open presents. We all had a good time and enjoyed each other's company. In the afternoon Wes and Katelynn went to his mother's for his family's Christmas dinner. Since Elizabeth was still coughing and running a low grade fever I stayed home with her. I called my sisters and talked to them.

When the night was over it finally hit me that I had made it through the day without my mother. It was hard not being able to talk to her and share the wonderful day with her. I shed some tears but I'm grateful that we are sealed to each other, and if I live right we will be together again one day. After all Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth. I'm grateful for my Savior and His Atonement. It was very peaceful and comforting to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
